The highlight of the year's Anime-culture is here.It has been running for the past few years and this year is undoubtedly SUPER and its righteous and totally awesome name is AFAX-Anime Festival Asia X . It has been happening from yesterday to today which is the 13th-14th November 2010 and has attracted Anime fans from all over the world that being said, tons of people have gone to the con which was located @ Suntec city exhibiton halls 401&402 dressed as their favourite characters from various animes and games another word for this amazingness is Cosplay,short form for costume play.Below are a few pictures i took of people cosplaying
there really were many more but on to our next topic.
AFAX was a blast but it costs $8 to enter the festival section which was what i did but was the $8 worth it?
well im here to feature and talk about most of the stuff in the convention so no worries :D. Well, in the convention, there are MANY exhibits or shops based loosly around J-Pop culture and Anime out of these exhibits there really are quite a few who put up quite the detailed and awesome figurines which i do admire alot take a look at them for your self! . Pics below!
Some of these magnificent figurines were obtainable from these capsule machines for $3 each!
Onwards to other booths, there was a booth which tested your singing ablitees singing japanese songs that is
Karoke to japanese songs like OnePiece's theme We'are and some other famous songs it really was fun to
hear some weird accents taking on those japanese lyrics they sounded really weird and eccentric but well
here's a picture of the karoke area. you really did have to have guts to do it with 30+ people lookin@you
Besides this there are various shops selling all sorts of merchandize from keychains to life size swords like zanpakutos and other epic stuff, sadly i didnt really take any photos of these shop but there sure were alot of good deals @ the convention such as gundam kits which costs $15 which had dropped to $5! and also the release of some limited edition gundam kits too! here are some pictures . PERFECT GRADE Gundams were available too! they sure looked awesome! there was also an gundam manga drawer on site drawing!.
So i did mention i was going to talk about the more famous anime/mangas, so here's another one of the bigger ,more-well known anime. Naruto and Naruto Shippuden of course.
As you might have already known, its main character is Naruto, obviously and the story pretty much centers around him. As a child, Naruto was very lonely as both his parents had died when he was a baby , he had very special parents. The Kyuubi, one of the tailed beast, the 9th one to be exact was sealed in him by his father in hopes he would learn to use his power to control it and one day save Konoha,village hidden in the leaves, from any threats it may face.
Because of the kyuubi inside him and the fact that his parents had died,nobody wanted to befriend him and his peers were advised to avoid him but as the story evolves, he starts to gain friends the first few being Iruka sensei. Sakura,Sasuke and Kakashi sensei became part of Naruto's squad Kakashi the jonin as the leader.
After alot of missions and experiences Naruto gradually became stronger and quite a few people have acknowledged that he might one day be the strongest Hokage ever.
An Anbu,elite ninja,Yamamoto was called upon to temporary replace Kakashi ,and another from Anbu Root, Sai to replace Sasuke.
In Shippuden there were new enemies out to hunt the tailed beasts called Akatsuki and Naruto and his friends frequently clashed with them. They were strong enemies so Naruto had to train very hard to match their strength.At this point of time,Naruto had managed to defeat one of the strongest of the Akatsuki called Pain but alot more lies in wait of Naruto.
You may have heard about this new Bungie Xbox game Halo Reach well from what i know, its supposed to be the best and last Halo game from Bungie, the orginal Halo series creator.
Well, whats so good about this game?
.The graphics have improved
.There are Jetpacks!
.There's even a space combat section
.Oh and it was released on the 14th of September 2010 "worldwide"
Judging by the reviews and pictures ill give it a 5/5 P.S when i get my hands on it there'll be a review!
After flicking through the calender, i saw that yet another anime/cosplay exhibition is going to be hosted in november @ suntec city exhibition halls 401 &402.
This blog might be featuring the event, depending on whether i have the time to visit it or not but anyways ill keep you guys posted about this exhibition and if i do happen to attend it, there will sure lotsa photos and stuff like that! On to our first topic BLEACH well you will have probably heard of it before but this post is for those who have not Bleach is about soul reapers killing hollows looking awesome and usually having massive power their fights look very awesome and the storyline is quite good but the anime has lotsa fillers which you could skip if you choose to.The story centers around a boy called ichigo "the orange coloured hair dude"gaining power to help the soul society and most importantly, protect his friends and family
Their main weapon of attack are zanpaktous which are swords which normally has 3 stages of evolution
normal mode, shikai mode and bankai mode
There are also various ranks amongst the soulsociety from the captain commander to captain to lieutenant to
what the main character , ichigo, is a subsitute soul reaper
That pretty much wraps up Bleach and i recommend it 5/5 stars :D
Time to start posting stuff :D Okay so this is an blog about anime,games and figurines and it will also feature conventions such as STGCC -singapore toys games comics connection so yeah but when these events are not held we'll pretty much talk about animes, their plotlines and stuff like that so there might be a few spoilers along the way not to mention that toys and figurines that i buy will be featured here too so yeah.
